Shortly after 1100 on Tuesday June 29th Gordonville Fire and EMS was dispatched to the 2900 block of Harvest Drive in Leacock Township for a reported brush fire with mutual aid from Intercourse Fire Company and Ronks Fire Company. Lt 432 responded and was advised by the 911 center of a quarter acre sized field on fire. Engine 431 with 6 along with Squad 431 with 4 made the response from station 43. Lt 432 arrived on the scene confirming the field on fire about an acre in size and rapidly spreading due to the dry and windy conditions present. Engine 431 arrived on scene laying a supply line in the driveway and began extinguishing the trash pile which was determined as the origin of the fire while also attacking the field fire from the east side of the field. Units from Ronks Fire Company were able to access the field and worked on containing and extinguishing the fire from the west end of the field. During the incident two additional Tankers were requested for water. In total approximately 2.5 – 3 acres burned until the incident was able to be contained.
