For the month of October the EMS Division handled a total 130 calls. We had 108 calls for our 1st due unit, 28 calls for our second due unit, 5 calls for our third due unit, and 2 call for our fourth due unit. The EMS Supervisor responded to 5 calls and the Duty Chief responded to 5. The department wide EMS training for the month was a walk through of Myers Quarry with the Fire Division. The Quarry is a high risk-low frequency opportunity in our first due that we could respond to calls at. We were able to meet with staff and get a tour of the Quarry and discuss the high probability of emergencies we could responded to for both fire and EMS incidents.
For the month of October the Fire Division handled 18 calls for service. We had 15 calls for the Engine Company, 4 for the Truck Company (with a week and a half of out of service time for maintenance), 4 for the Squad, and 3 for the Special Unit. The Duty Chief responded to 7 calls and the EMS Supervisor to 2. The first department wide training crews met at our station with Fire Station 45 (Kinzer) to review residential roof ventilation on our roof simulator. The second department wide fire training for the month was joint training with the EMS division and Kinzer Fire Company, which walk through/Pre Plan of Myers Quarry. Individual members also completed several hours of driver training, Truck 1, and a Structural Burn Session training.
