For the month of April the EMS Division handled a total 101 calls. We had 92 calls for a 1st due unit, 16 calls for a second due unit, 2 calls for our third due unit, and 1 call for our fourth due unit. The EMS Supervisor responded to 10 calls and the Duty Chief responded to 1. The department wide EMS training for the month was on patient lifting and moving techniques. Several members also individually completed continuing education for their certifications.
For the month of April the Fire Division handled 20 calls for service. We had 10 calls for the Engine Company, 8 for the Truck Company, 5 for the Squad, and 1 for the Special Unit. The Duty Chief responded to 9 calls and the EMS Supervisor to 5. The first department wide fire training for the month was with Amtrak personnel on railway safety and getting us familiar with the Amtrak lines that run through our first due. The second department wide training for the month was on riding assignments for the Engine and Truck Company. We also had 1 member complete his final burn for his essentials class and several members who worked throughout the month on driver and pump qualifications to get clear as driver/operators on the Engine and Truck.
