For the month of May the EMS Division handled a total 129 calls. We had 107 calls for our 1st due unit, 24 calls for our second due unit, 5 calls for our third due unit, 0 call for our fourth due unit. The EMS Supervisor responded to 19 calls and the Duty Chief responded to 1. The EMS training for the month brought Lancaster EMS, Paramedic/Lt Patterson out to our station for a class on assisting ALS and familiarization of their equipment. Lancaster EMS is our primary ALS agency that assists us on call so having them out come out and review equipment helps with the smooth flow of calls. This month we also finished up our second EMT class. We are happy to announce all 15 students passed the class and were cleared for certification testing. Students will complete their National Registry skills testing mid June, we would like to wish them the best of luck!
For the month of May the Fire Division handled 15 calls for service. We had 9 calls for the Engine Company, 6 for the Truck Company, 3 for the Squad, and 0 for the Special Unit. The Duty Chief responded to 4 calls and the EMS Supervisor to 0. The first department wide training for the monthly was a review of the Special Unit with the EMS Division and Station 45. Our Special Unit’s primary response is for firefighter rehab, assisting departments all over Lancaster County as well as the occasional trips to Chester and York Counties. The second company wide training for the month was review of ventilation on our roof ventilation prop.
