For the month of June the EMS Division handled a total 137 calls. We had 114 calls for our 1st due unit, 29 calls for our second due unit, 5 calls for our third due unit, 2 call for our fourth due unit. The EMS Supervisor responded to 11 calls and the Duty Chief responded to 2. The EMS training for the month was a presentation from the Clinic for Special Children. The clinic is currently building their new facility here in Gordonville and will be moving their services to our area. Therefore, we thought it would be a great time to learn more about what they do and the medical conditions we could encounter should we get called to their facility. The evening was filled with excellent dialogue between their staff and ours on understanding the services they can provide to us and we can provide them, and we look forward to developing a working relationship with them over the next few months as they prepare to move to the area and then for the years to come! We would like to congratulate all the students who completed the testing and passed! Several students have also already completed their written exam and are officially now EMTs. These students are now riding on our ambulances as new volunteers for Gordonville Fire and EMS! We would like to wish the best of luck to the remainder of the students who still need to take their written exams.
