Today is Nissa! She is our EMS Captain who brings excitement and a smile to Gordonville Fire & EMS. She is always willing to fill in when needed and has a great listening ear. Keep up the great work Nissa!
Hey! My name is Nissa. I have been volunteering at Gordonville for almost 10 years. I have always had a desire to be in the medical field for as long as I can remember. I thought I would become a nurse after I got married. Life happened and we started our family right away. I focused on being a stay at home mom to our 4 kids, which I loved! Once our kids were older, my second daughter and I decided to take an EMT class together. We ran Friday nights together for 3 1/2 years. She went on to be a nurse and I continued to run my Friday nights and was a fill in daytime as needed. I got more and more involved at Gordonville. I became a LT and was HR for several years. 2 years ago I was promoted to EMS Capt. I continue to enjoy running calls and being involved in a lot of behind the scenes things. Gordonville has truly been a great addition and blessing in my life. I am grateful for the people I get the opportunity to serve with. EMS challenges me and pushes me to continue learning.
When I’m not at station, you will most likely find me home with my husband, Tim, in our office running our business. When we aren’t working, we enjoy the outdoors, or spending time with our family and friends.
